About Me

I believe counseling works best when it feels genuine and collaborative. I show up authentically and invite you to do the same. Each person carries their own wisdom, and my role is to honor that while offering clinical guidance and support. My integrative, person-centered style draws from a variety of approaches, depending on your needs.

Before becoming a counselor, I earned my undergraduate degree in horticulture from West Virginia University, where I created a greenhouse life-skills program for high school boys navigating adversity. Later, I pursued a teaching license for Middle Grades Science Education at Western Carolina University and earned a Montessori Guide Certification from North American Montessori Center. I spent years teaching abroad as a Montessori guide, working closely with children and families, including those with neurodivergent children. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, with specializations in Marriage, Couples, and Families, as well as Addictions. In 2025, I launched Livingston Wellness Counseling in Asheville.

People describe me as genuine, caring, and approachable, with a bold sense of humor. I've called Asheville home on and off for the past 20 years. In my spare time, I enjoy connecting with my family, exploring the mountains of Western North Carolina, tending my garden, and catching live music.

My Story

Like many of the people I work with, my life has included seasons of change, growth, and challenge. My worldview is shaped by stories of survival and resilience. Moving through experiences of grief and loss has deepened my capacity for empathy and reinforced my belief in the power of resilience.

I carry a special passion for supporting women as they navigate life’s turning points—whether in relationships, separation, parenting, or caregiving. I also feel deeply connected to families facing the weight of generational trauma, addiction, or developmental differences. While each story is unique, I believe in the strength we all hold to heal and to create more fulfilling, authentic lives.
